From Fredericksburg Police:
After an investigation led by Fredericksburg Detectives; the Fredericksburg Police Department
arrested the suspect in the shots fired incident.
John Bromley, 25, of Stafford County was arrested on the charges: Reckless handling of a firearm (misdemeanor), Possession of a firearm by a felon
(felony), Possession of ammunition by felon (felony) and two counts of willfully discharging a firearm in
a public place (misdemeanor).
Bromley is incarcerated without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
The Fredericksburg Police Department is still investigating the fight that took place in the 500 block
of Sophia Street and no arrests have been made. The Fredericksburg Police Sergeant who fired one shot
has been placed on administrative leave per department policy while an internal investigation takes
place.
