From Fredericksburg Police:
Thursday night, with assistance from Virginia State Police and the U.S. Marshals, the Fredericksburg Police Department arrested the suspect in the July 4th shooting that left a 49- year-old woman hospitalized for multiple gunshot wounds. Tyrese Washington, 41, of Fredericksburg was arrested on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Washington is incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail
without bond.
On July 4th, at approximately 1:55 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police E-911 center received a call from a woman who reported she had been shot in the 1700 block of Lafayette Boulevard. The investigation revealed the suspect was known to the victim, who remains hospitalized for her injury.
