Deadly 48 hours in Spotsy: Three shootings reported

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office reports three shootings.   Details of a deadly shooting in the Oak Grove subdivision are in a separate story.

The Sheriff’s Office has released details of a shooting on September 16th at 4am:

Deputies responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Norris Drive in the Maple Grove Subdivision for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived to find a home occupied by several individuals that had been shot several times. Detectives and the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Unit investigated the shooting and collected several pieces of evidence. Preliminary investigation revealed that the occupants and the shooter knew each other. Detectives obtained warrants on Julius Q. Ferguson, thirty-year-old male from Stafford. Mr. Ferguson turned himself into Stafford County Sheriff’s Office on September 17, 2021 and is being held with no bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Also information on a shooting at Durango’s Grill:

On September 17, 2021 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Deputies responded to multiple calls of a shooting at Durango’s Grill located in the 4200 block of Plank Rd. Deputies arrived within minutes and found where several dozen rounds of gunfire erupted in the parking lot between several suspects. Initially it was reported that someone was shot, but Deputies were unable to located anyone with injuries. Numerous businesses and vehicles in the area were struck by gunfire causing extensive damage. Detectives are continuing to follow up on leads and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

Major Troy Skebo says none of the three shootings are related.
