TikTok challenge charges in Stafford

by | Sep 18, 2021 | Police and Fire

From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

A Stafford student is facing criminal charges after vandalizing a park bathroom Friday afternoon.
On Friday the Stafford Sheriff’s Office posted about charges related to defacement of a North Stafford High School bathroom as part of a social media challenge. At 1:25 p.m. deputies were alerted to a group of students at Chichester Park, adjacent to Stafford High School, causing damage to a bathroom. A group of six students that had snuck off campus during lunch were stopped by Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz and School Resource Deputy J.T. Harrod III leaving the park.
A juvenile in the group is now facing criminal charges for ripping a soap dispenser from the wall and damaging the bathroom door with a kick. All six students are also facing school punishment regarding leaving the school grounds.
Again, we encourage parents to talk to their teens about social media and the seriousness of vandalism to school property.
