From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

A Stafford man is awaiting extradition back to Virginia after a crime spree last month left a wake of vandalized cars.
On August 27 Deputy D.A. Earp received a lookout for a vehicle involved in vandalizing unoccupied vehicles with spray paint in Spotsylvania. Deputy Earp began checking the area where the vehicle registration returned and located the suspect vehicle on Emerald Drive. He attempted a traffic stop on Village Parkway, but the suspect continued driving, made a U-turn and pulled to the side of the road. The driver immediately fled on foot into the woods.
Responding units set up a perimeter as Deputy Earp dealt with the juvenile that had been left behind in the suspect vehicle. The suspect was identified as Christopher Butler, 42. Butler was able to evade capture that night, but a search of the vehicle revealed an incriminating can of white spray paint.
Deputies located five additional victims in Stafford County that had their vehicles defaced with lines, words and crude drawings in white spray paint by this vandalizing Picasso. Fredericksburg Police Department also identified victims in their jurisdiction.
Butler was arrested in Jackson County, Mississippi on September 13 and is awaiting extradition back to Stafford to face charges of eluding, driving suspended, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child abuse, and numerous counts of vehicle vandalism.
