VDOT has scheduled daytime lane closures on Interstate 95 this week to inspect the interstate bridges over the Rappahannock River.
Single lane closures are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on I-95 northbound at the bridge, which connects the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County. Motorists can expect travel delays at midday in the Fredericksburg area each day through Thursday, Oct. 21.
The routine bridge inspection must occur during the daylight hours to safely perform the work.
Weather permitting, the following lane closures will occur on I-95 northbound and southbound at the Rappahannock River Bridges, which are located at mile marker 132:
Monday, Oct. 18 – Tuesday, Oct. 19
- 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 northbound
Wednesday, Oct. 20 – Thursday, Oct. 21
- 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 southbound
