From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a road rage incident that started on I-95 Saturday evening and ended on Warrenton Road with an assault and robbery attempt.
At 7:30 p.m. on October 23, deputies responded to the Firehouse Subs at 1036 Warrenton Road for an assault. The victim reported he was involved in a road rage incident on I-95 southbound approximately thirty minutes earlier. He and the other driver cut each other off and brake checked each other. The victim exited the Interstate onto Warrenton Road and the suspect followed him to the rear of the sub shop.
The victim and suspect both parked and exited their vehicles. The suspect approached the victim and began pummeling him. The suspect brandished a handgun and attempted to shoot the victim, but the gun did not fire. The handgun was instead used to pistol whip the victim. An additional barrage of punches was inflicted and the suspect demanded the victim’s car key and tried to take them from his pants pocket. He was unsuccessful in getting the key and left the scene in his vehicle.
The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties with longer curly hair in a bun, 5’10’- 6’ tall with a muscular build and a goatee. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model grey Toyota Corolla.
The victim was treated for his injuries by Fire and Rescue at the scene. Anyone with information or that witnessed this incident is asked to contact Detective Sanchez at 540-658-4400.
