From the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office:

On May 20, 2022 Henrico County Police arrested Ryan Addair, 41 years of age from Henrico County on a Spotsylvania County warrant for taking indecent liberties with a minor.
An anonymous tip was called into the Spotsylvania Department of Social Services and the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office alleging an inappropriate relationship with a minor by Mr. Addair who at the time of the allegation was the Band Director for Chancellor High School. The complaint was immediately given to the Sheriff’s Office Child Victim Unit to investigate. Detectives quickly interviewed the known victim who was a student of Mr. Addair and were able to find evidence associating Mr. Addair to the alleged crimes.
The offenses reportedly occurred between March 1 and March 30, 2020 at two different locations. Mr. Addair was incarcerated originally in Henrico County and then transferred to Rappahannock Regional Jail. He was arraigned on May 23rd in Spotsylvania Juvenile & Domestic Relations court where he was given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. Mr. Addair has not been employed with Spotsylvania County Public Schools since June 30, 2020.
Detectives are continuing their investigation to see if there are any more individuals that may have had inappropriate contact with Mr. Addair.
