I- 95 travelers are advised that lane closures and full traffic stops are scheduled overnight this week in the Fredericksburg area at multiple locations, northbound and southbound, between exit 148 (Quantico) in Stafford County and exit 104 (Carmel Church) in Caroline County, for maintenance and construction work.
Crews are building bridges and ramps as part of the future 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension, while other work zones are needed for inspection of existing I-95 overpasses, and resurfacing travel lanes.
Intermittent full stops on I-95 northbound and southbound are scheduled between midnight and 3 a.m. near exit 148 (Quantico) on early Tuesday through Friday mornings. Traffic may be stopped for up to 30-minute intervals.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid major delays.
