Interstate 95 southbound traffic will be detoured at exit 148 (Quantico) in Stafford County from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. several nights this week.
Southbound I-95 traffic is being detoured to allow construction crews to place bridge beams over the I-95 travel lanes. The beams are part of a future flyover ramp under construction just south of exit 148 (Quantico) for the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.
Travelers will follow the detour from I-95 southbound to Russell Road, Route 1 southbound, and Route 610 (Garrisonville Road), where they can re-enter I-95 southbound at exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville).
The detour has been scheduled to occur weather permitting overnight thru Wednesday, Aug. 10, ending at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.
In addition to the detour, southbound travelers can expect overnight delays for lane closures associated with flyover ramp construction before and after the detour begins. I-95 southbound lane closures are scheduled near exit 148 (Quantico) between 9-11 p.m. and 3:30-10 a.m. on bridge beam placement evenings.
