Stafford man charged in fatal apartment shooting

Stafford detectives have made an arrest in the Wednesday night murder at a North Stafford apartment complex.

The Sheriff’s Office responded at 10:36 p.m. responded to a shooting on Declaration Drive. They arrived to find 45-year-old Anthony Jermaine Johnson of Stafford on the ground in front of an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies and bystanders provided first aid until medics arrived to transport Johnson, but he passed away at the hospital a short time later.

Sgt. Shawn Kimmitz says 24-year-old William McQueen of Stafford was arrested and charged second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
