Woman hospitalized with serious injuries after roommate attack in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg Police say on Sunday, September 11th, at approximately 5:15 p.m., they received a call from Spotsylvania Regional Medical Hospital about a female who was assaulted in the city.
Patrol officers responded to the hospital and began their investigation. The victim could not speak due to sustained injuries, so officers interviewed family members and friends. During their investigation, it was determined the victim was brutally attacked by her roommate, 29-year-old Kayla Haley of Fredericksburg in the 1400 block of Dandridge Street. Patrol officers began to search for Haley and the on-call detective responded to lead the investigation.
Shortly after midnight, Haley was located in Spotsylvania County and arrested for aggravated malicious wounding. She remains incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The victim remains hospitalized at this time with serious injuries.
