From the King George Sheriff’s Office:

On Wednesday, November 30th 2022 at approximately 6:30 AM, King George Sheriff’s Office received a call from an employee at Elite Auto Nation, located on James Madison Pkwy in the area of Ridge Rd., stating that he believed the dealership had been burglarized.
Deputies responded to the business and observed glass had been broken out of one of the building’s exterior windows. Detectives responded to investigate the incident where it was discovered some vehicle keys had been stolen as well as a 2019 Kia Forte that was on the lot. It was also discovered that some checks had been taken from the business.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and conducted interviews, quickly identifying the suspect as Tony Bae, 31 years old of King George. Bae was a former employee of the dealership.
The investigation led detectives to recover the stolen vehicle later in the day on November 30th, the same day the burglary was reported. Warrants were obtained against Bae for Grand Larceny of a Vehicle and Felony Burglary.
On December 5th, Fredericksburg P.D. encountered Bae after he attempted to cash one of the stolen checks. Bae was arrested on the King George charges and also faces multiple charges in Fredericksburg. He is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
