From the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office:
On January 17, 2023 Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputies responded to a report of a large fight at Riverbend High School during instructional hours. At the conclusion of the investigation a total of eight juveniles will be charged. The charges range from Malicious wounding, assault by mob and assault. The ages of the suspects are between fourteen years old to seventeen years old. Additional charges may be sought as the investigation continues. According to the initial investigation, there was a prior altercation January 13th at the school following a basketball game.
The seventeen year old victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office will have additional personnel at the school this week.
