Luke DiMaso of St. William of York Catholic School in Stafford won the Fredericksburg Regional Spelling Bee held at James Monroe High School on Saturday morning. The championship word was apophyge. Luke will represent the Fredericksburg area in the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor, Maryland from May 28-June 2nd. Patrick Wilt from Gayle Middle School in Stafford was second. The spelling bee is sponodred by the Central Rappahannock Regional Library and The Free Lance Star.
