Stafford Sheriff’s Office called this a Game of Thorns

From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

A suspected car thief learned “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” as his escape path was impeded by a wall of thorns early Sunday.
At 12:54 a.m. today Deputy R.T. Philippsen observed a stolen Toyota RAV4 exit Garrison Woods subdivision. The driver stopped at a nearby residence on Aquia Avenue and Deputies S.C. Jett and E.T. Osborn moved into position for a high-risk encounter.
The driver was instructed to keep his hands up, but was uncooperative. The lack of cooperation continued when the suspect sprinted from the stolen car toward Barrett Heights Road with the deputies in pursuit. The foot pursuit was short-lived. After approximately 40 yards the suspect encountered a fence covered with thorns. For the suspect it must have seemed like the wall of ice separating the wild lands from the Seven Kingdoms in Game of Thrones.
The arrival of Sergeant B.U. Demirci and K-9 Titan ensured the chase would end favorably for law enforcement. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and identified as Elijah Snyder, 28, of Stafford. The car was determined to be stolen from Prince William County and the owner was notified of the recovery.
Snyder was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized use, possession of a controlled substance, obstruction and driving revoked. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
