Unless you have been under a rock for the past year, you have seen our efforts to raise the money to pay off the new land!
We have a loan, so what’s the rush? While it is true we do have a loan we are pushing to get the land paid off before we have to waste donations on interest payments on the loan.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!
The quicker the land is paid off, the quicker we can put it under protection! The land trust can only happen twice a year so we want to get in our paperwork to start the process before we have to wait several more months to do so.
While we are blown away with how much this community has pooled together their money to pay off and protect this land from now into eternity, we are not quite done.
Luckily, we planned for a little more wiggle room just in case we didn’t get all the funds by the end of March.
You heard correctly! WIGGLE ROOM!
We now have until the end of April to raise the remaining money (only a meager $94k). But this is truly the deadline if we want to get it under protection immediately.
So, thank you all so much for all the donations you have given and for helping spread the word! We have seen what this community can do and have no doubt that we will be able to scrape together this last chunk of change before April closes out.
