ICYMI: Fredericksburg Police identify juvenile murder suspect in fatal shooting of Jasiah Smith
Pursuant to VA Codes 16.2-301 and 16.1-301, the Fredericksburg Police Department is releasing the identity of the juvenile suspect in an effort to locate and arrest both homicide suspects.
Authorities say 16 year old Lorenzo Brooks of Fredericksburg is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Brooks is approximately 5’4” and 120 pounds.
19-year old Aaron Carter of Fredericksburg is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Carter is approximately 5’8” and 145 pounds.
Detectives are actively searching for both suspects. They are considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach them, and call local law enforcement immediately if you see them. Spokeswoman Sarah Morris says City Police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of Jasiah Smith that occurred Sunday, March 26th, 2023. At 2:56 p.m., the Fredericksburg E-911 Center received a call for shots fired in the 400 block of Chadwick Court. Patrol officers arrived at 2:59 p.m. to discover a male unresponsive, lying in a parking space with multiple gunshot wounds. Patrol officers performed CPR and provided life-saving measures until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Jasiah was pronounced dead.
