Fredericksburg Rescue Squad Offers Full Reimbursement for upcoming EMT Class
FROM THE FREDERICKSBURG RESCUE SQUAD:
Fredericksburg, VA – The Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad will be hosting an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic class, scheduled to start on August 3rd. With a reduced price, the class aims to provide more accessible opportunities for individuals interested in becoming an EMT and serving their community.
Upon completion of the course, individuals who volunteer as an EMT with the squad will be fully reimbursed for the class cost. The Squad intends to provide participants with comprehensive training in emergency medical services while allowing them to give back to their community.
“Volunteering with the rescue squad is a rewarding experience,” said Training Lieutenant C. Gruber. “Being able to help people when they are having one of their worst days is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that you’ve made a positive impact on a person’s life is one of the greatest things about being an EMS provider.”
EMT-Basic certification serves as the entry-level qualification for individuals involved in prehospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. EMTs are trained to assess a patient’s condition and provide fundamental life support, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and airway management.
Established in 1940, the Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad holds a rich history of providing vital emergency medical services to the community. For over 80 years, the all-volunteer squad has remained dedicated to saving lives and improving the health and well-being of its residents. Composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds, ranging from students to retirees, the squad exemplifies the spirit of community service.
