State Police seeking witnesses to fatal I-95 crash in Stafford

Two people are dead and a third injured following a three-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of I-95 early Wednesday morning (7/5/23) at the 136 mile marker in Stafford County. At 4:42 AM, a tractor-trailer was traveling north in the center lane when it attempted to change lanes to the right and collided with a northbound 2014 Nissan Altima. The impact caused both vehicles to veer into the left lane where they collided with a northbound 2010 Subaru Forrester. All three vehicles continued off the left side of I-95 and struck the guardrail before the tractor-trailer overturned on top of the two vehicles.
Neither the driver of the Nissan nor the driver of the Subaru survived the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with reckless driving. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
