Conservation in Panama Discussion

Join the Fredericksburg Birding Club, Friends of the Rappahannock, and University of Mary Washington’s Dept. of Biological Sciences for a presentation by naturalist Guido Berguido on Sunday, May 21 at 7:00PM in UMW’s Jepson Science Center Room 100. Educated at the University of Panama, Mr. Berguido is founder of the Chucanti Cloud Forest Reserve and Advantage Tours Panama. He has gained international recognition for his conservation efforts in Panama, one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth, and his cloud forest reserve is home to several newly discovered endemic species. Additionally, Mr. Berguido regularly hosts birding clubs from around the world and provides educational programs for students of all ages. After his presentation, t-shirts will be available for sale with proceeds supporting Adopta Panama Rainforest, Berguido’s nonprofit organization established to support conservation in Panama.
