League of Women Voters of Fredericksburg Area: Celebrates Women’s Equality Day!
August 26 @ 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm
Join the League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area as we celebrate Women’s Equality Day and kick-off our League’s year-long centennial celebration! We begin the evening at 6:15pm outside Eileen’s Bakery for a brief “Votes for Women!” march to the front steps of the Fredericksburg Library. After the march, join us at 6:30pm on the 3rd floor of the Fredericksburg Library branch, where guest speaker, Dr. Kristin Marsh, chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Marsh Washington, will present on women’s equality and how far we’ve come since women were given the right to vote in 1919! LWVFRA will also recognize city council members and county supervisors in Fredericksburg and Planning District 16 to honor their contributions and dedication to public service. We hope you can join LWVFRA for an empowering and exciting evening! For more information, download out August 26th Women’s Equality Day announcement!
