The Fall Safety Class is an 8 week course that will meet Fridays 10am-11am, starting January 9th, 2026. During these 8 weeks, our trained instructors will share the Kupuna Method to help seniors improve balance, reduce instances of falls, and reduce the impact of falls.

Fredericksburg, Virginia – Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB) invites adults with mental health challenges to submit artwork for the annual Art of Recovery exhibit, a community art show celebrating creativity, resilience and healing.

The exhibit will be on display May 1-31 at the headquarters of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library in Fredericksburg. Artwork will be for sale at an opening reception on May 1 but will be displayed throughout the month. Details about the reception and the sale—which will accept only cash as payment—will be announced closer to the exhibit’s opening.

Art of Recovery highlights original works created by individuals with mental illness—offering an opportunity to share their voices and connect with the community. The exhibit also aims to challenge stigma and encourage conversations about mental health and recovery.

RACSB is accepting original, two-dimensional artwork, including drawings, paintings, prints, and mixed media. Artwork should be submitted by March 1.

Entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form, which is available at //rappahannockareacsb.org/art-of-recovery.

Caroline Community Theatre proudly announces its upcoming production of The Second‑to‑Last Chance Ladies League, a heartfelt and hilarious stage comedy by the acclaimed writing trio Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. This lively sequel to Always a Bridesmaid welcomes audiences back into the world of four lifelong friends navigating life, reinvention, and the chaos of running a community events venue.

About the Show

The story follows Libby Ruth, Deedra, Monette, Charlie, and Sedalia as they reunite at their beloved Laurelton Oaks, a picturesque but well‑worn wedding venue with deep personal history. After Deedra purchases the property, the women band together to reinvent it as “Occasionally Yours,” a vibrant event center full of opportunity—and unpredictable mishaps. What begins as a fresh start quickly spirals into comedic chaos, featuring dramatic divorces, rekindled romances, midlife awakenings, and a year’s worth of wildly unforgettable events where absolutely everything that can go wrong does.

Packed with warmth, wit, and Southern charm, The Second‑to‑Last Chance Ladies League stands on its own while delighting fans of the original story. Audiences can expect a fast‑paced, feel‑good comedy celebrating friendship, resilience, and the joy of second chances.

Disney Channel’s smash hit movie musical comes to life on your stage! Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.
It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

-Bring a song

Please be prepared to sing for 60 – 90 seconds as part of your audition.

Selected songs should be in the style of the show: if you need inspiration, https://musicaltheatreresources.com is an excellent place to start! If you would like to have musical accompaniment, our technical director will be available to help you select an instrumental track from YouTube before you take the stage.

-Cold reads

The second part of your audition will consist of a cold read from a selection of monologues, depending on the role you are auditioning for. No advance prep needed!

-Dancing

Please wear comfortable clothing for light movement, as we will be doing a movement test with a little bit of basic choreography.

-Virtual auditions

If you are submitting a virtual audition, please send a video of yourself to artisticdirector@carolinetheatre.org that includes the following: an introduction, 60 – 90 seconds of singing, and 30 – 60 seconds of a prepared monologue in the style of the character you’d most like to be considered for.
