The combination of heat and humidity will cause the heat index to reach 100 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Fredericksburg region from noon to 7 p.m. July 2. Heat index values are expected to reach about 105 degrees, with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.
The combination of high temperatures and high humidity create a situation in which heat related illnesses are possible. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends these precautions:
