“The Color of Leaves,” an exhibition of new works by Fredericksburg-area artist Helen Butler, is the featured show at Art First Gallery July 1 – 27, 2014.
Butler, a 20-year member of Art First, considers herself a colorist. “I’m interested in creating the basic form of a piece of art with color, texture and composition,” Butler said.

Sandra Kennelly earned an art degree at Berkeley, and spent years painting abstract oils and acrylics in the style of Hans Hoffman, a German-born American abstract expressionist painter popular during her college years. But it was motherhood that may have most significantly influenced her career.
