Heat Index Expected Near 105

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Fredericksburg region from noon to 7 p.m. July 2. Heat index values are expected to reach about 105 degrees, with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.
The combination of high temperatures and high humidity create a situation in which heat related illnesses are possible. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends these precautions:

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Fredericksburg region until 10 p.m. June 11, including the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George and Caroline.

The rain has stopped but the National Weather Service has extended the flood warning until 11:30 a.m. May 1 for the Fredericksburg region.
NWS Issues Flood Warning for Fredericksburg Region

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood warning for the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Orange, Prince William and Eastern Culpeper.
By 2 p.m. April 30, about two inches of rain had fallen across the area since the morning, and numerous creeks, steams and rivers were overflowing their banks, the NWS said.
Winter Weather Advisory for Fredericksburg Area
Snow along Interstates 64, 81 and 68 “will have a significant impact on holiday travel plans,” the NWS said.
